Prof. Marco Briceno

Marco Graduated from the Central University of Venezuela in 2002. After practicing in his home Country for a few years, he went to complete Basic Surgical Training in the UK, obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2007. He moved to the NT in 2008 where he completed training with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.

 

He practiced in East Arnhem for 13 years as a Rural Generalist with special interest in Surgery, working in Gove Hospital, Remote Communities, General Practice, Aeromedical Retrievals and Management. He has been actively involved in Medical Education and Training having close ties with the University and the Colleges. Since 2021 Marco has been living in Darwin and working in Public Health and Health Senior Executive Leadership positions. He was awarded Associate Fellowship of the Australasian College of Health Service Management in 2022.

 

Marco now works across all his areas of passion combining Medical Practice (Urban and Remote), Education & Training and Executive roles. Marco’s main areas of clinical expertise and interest include: Acute General Practice, Surgical and Orthopaedics pathology, Musculoskeletal/Sports Medicine and Integrated Care.
